  1. Hello roytam1, Please notice that the installation of IA32 Win32 https://o.rthost.win/basilisk/basilisk52-g4.8.win32-git-20250315-3219d2d-uxp-f428ae64da-xpmod-ia32.7z installs the same ST52 version as IA32 Win32 https://o.rthost.win/basilisk/basilisk52-g4.8.win32-git-20250308-3219d2d-uxp-8a35744175-xpmod-ia32.7z This means: 2025-03-15 = 2025-03-08

Extensive testing reveals that the probable culprit is the hosts file (merged file). Why only https://www.auf1.tv gave that strange error message (other websites no problems in that respect) remains a mystery.

Can someone confirm this problem ? Can this problem be fixed ?
  4. Asp said: "Problem with DuckDuckGo for a while now, and update to the latest New Moon 2024-10-24 did not help. I can enter a search term in DDG's search box and get a page of results. But every link gives me a "400 Bad Request" page." No problems here with DDG. Latest NM28 works fine with DDG.
  5. Hello AstroSkipper, Here are my screenshots of outlook.live.com with NM28 and St52 (latest releases). Since I don't have an M$ account this is the end of the line. Obviously St52 does not work with M$ Outlook.

No idea about the actual required minimum versions." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I can confirm this for the latest versions of NM28 and St52.
  7. NotHereToPlayGames said: "This Acer Aspire One really is the biggest waste of money I've ever spent!" Hello NotHereToPlayGames, Maybe "this biggest waste of money" could profit from some inspirations to speed it up: http://mrqash.blogspot.com/2021/12/ysiwin2kpror3iso.html And it should work with Mypay68.
  8. NotHereToPlayGames said: "In part because it is sooo dd#mmnn SSLLLOOOWW that I have 'no interest' in USING it for anything of real significance." Hello NotHereToPlayGames, Why don't you speeeeeed it up with FAAAAST and well configured SOFTWARE ??
  9. NotHereToPlayGames said: "Running a firewall SLOWS DOWN YOUR COMPUTER. Running anti-virus SLOWS DOWN YOUR COMPUTER. Running anti-malware SLOWS DOWN YOUR COMPUTER. I want NONE of that performance degradation." Hello NotHereToPlayGames, Does that mean you don't use any filtering sytems, including content-filtering proxies like Proxomitron , Privoxy etc. ?
  10. "I'm not going to use Windows Task Manager *TWICE* each and every time I want to restore previous session." Hello NotHereToPlayGames, It is not about Win Task Manager,it is about firewall [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Firewall_(computing)]. Can you rule out FW problems ?
  11. Hello NotHereToPlayGames, Your answer: "That only gives me a Server not found." I get exactly that same result when just stopping all internet traffic. Did you follow the exact procedure (posted below again) ? 1. Rendering above URL(website) with ST52 2. End Process (basilisk.exe) with Windows Task Manager 3. Restart St52 4. Recovering/rendering above URL(website) with ST52 5. Again End Process (basilisk.exe) with Windows Task Manager 6. Stop All Traffic with FIREWALL 7. Again restart St52 8. Well, this is embarrassing.
  12. Hello NotHereToPlayGames, What happens when you provoke the Restore Session's Windows and Tabs (Well, this is embarrassing) by stopping all internet traffic,as I described in my previous post ?
  13. NotHereToPlayGames said: "To replicate, don't "close" or "exit" the browser. But go to OS's Task Manager or something like System Informer and terminate the .exe from there." Again End Process (basilisk.exe) with Windows Task Manager 6. Stop All Traffic with FIREWALL 7. Again restart St52 8. Well, this is embarrassing. Serpent is having trouble recovering your windows and tabs. This is usually caused by a recently opened web page. You can try: Removing one or more tabs that you think may be causing the problem Starting an entirely new browsing session ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Of course St52 didn't know about the FIREWALL when "feelimg" embarrassed. As you can see St52 works as intended.
  14. https://www.auf1.tv/ Hello , Here is a question for the experts of this forum, since an internet search didn't yield any results. When visiting the above website with NM28 (https://o.rthost.win/palemoon/palemoon-28.10.7a1.win32-git-20240706-d849524bd-uxp-688fa00ac4-xpmod-sse.7z) I get the following message: ----------------------------- 500ah is undefined ----------------------------- The Web Console of NM28 gives this information: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- None of the “sha512” hashes in the integrity attribute match the content of the subresource. www.auf1.tv [nuxt] error caught during app initialization Error: ah is undefined SmBE_PwW.js:2:80781 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The latest version of St52 renders the above website without problems. What does NM28 mean with "500ah is undefined" ?
  15. AstroSkipper said: "No. This extension is only available for Chrome browsers (now in version 0.6.0) or Firefox-based browsers supporting webextensions. For New Moon 28, you have to use other solutions." Hello AstroSkipper, Thank you very much for the information.
  16. AstroSkipper said: "The best way to manage your user agent is the extension UserAgent-Switcher and Manager which I recommend and use myself." Hello AsroSkipper, Thanks for your answer. UserAgent-Switcher and Manager (user_agent_string_switcher-0.5.0.xpi) seems to work with St52. However with NM28 it won't install giving the following warning: "This add-on could not be installed because New Moon does not support WebExtensions." Is there a special setting in about:config to make it work with NM28 ?
  17. AstroSkipper said: "No problem here surfing all websites by default in mobile view on my Windows XP computer. You can do that in every browser." Hello AstroSkipper, Please, would you kindly describe in detail the way you do it ?

Got to total 5,6 GB / 6 GB RAM utilization, 3,6 GB of those occupied by Pale Moon." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here is a techno-philosophical question: How could it be that we got along with 256MB - 1024MB(1GB) RAM when NT5.0/5.1 dominated the web ? The "MODERN" web gives the impression that it often "loves" to collide with the KISS-Principle. Ignoring the KISS-Principle in technology is the scource of endless trouble. 21. Hello AstroSkipper said: "Unfortunately, I have to report that the payment of an eBay item with Paypal in New Moon 28 no longer works. You get stuck when logging into your Paypal account after a captcha request. Therefore, I had to make the purchase via my tablet. Can anyone confirm this issue?" Hello AstroSkipper, a few weeks ago (Bestelldatum:05. Mai. 2024) I wanted to pay with NM28 for an order on eBay with Paypal and got stuck like you. Only after visiting my Paypal account and confirming that I had read and accepted the revised AGBs (GTCs General terms and conditions) the payment proceeded as intended.
  22. Hello Mathwiz, your motto: is "truly heroic" !? Since using the latest browsers by RoyTam1 is not a question of "life and death", woudn't it be a little more productive if you muster your courage and lend a helping hand with this project ? Where are the DEAD CANARIES ?? The World Belongs to the Brave - so let's go on !
  23. Hello AstroSkipper, I'm posting this with NM28(latest version)/W2K from Germany and there seem to be no problems.
  24. https://o.rthost.win/basilisk/basilisk52-g4.8.win32-git-20240127-3219d2d-uxp-35252384aa-xpmod-ia32.7z Hello VistaLover, You are right. The latest (s.a.) St52 shows the same bug-pattern as NM28. Just take my latest post on NM28 concerning this bug and replace St52 for NM28 - the same story.
  25. Hello AstroSkipper, I can NOT confirm your observations with the latest NM28. I am running the latest version of New Moon 28 installed from the file: https://o.rthost.win/palemoon/palemoon-28.10.7a1.win32-git-20240127-d849524bd-uxp-35252384aa-xpmod-sse.7z When opening the Browser Console (Ctrl + Shift + J) and then closing , it will NOT open automatically every time when starting the browser again. My browser preferences: 1. When New Moon starts: Show a blank page 2. Clear history when New Moon closes However: When changing my browser preferences: 1. When New Moon starts: Show my windows and tabs from the last time 2. Unchecked: Clear history when New Moon closes Under these conditions I must CONFIRM your observations. What are your browser preferences ? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hello IYXOE, I can confirm your observations for these browser preferences: 1. When New Moon starts: Show a blank page 2. Clear history when New Moon closes When changing my browser preferences: 1. When New Moon starts: Show my windows and tabs from the last time 2. Unchecked: Clear history when New Moon closes I can't open the Console twice but the second trial gives me the Library window.
